Today, we headed over to the Scripps Aquarium to check it out. Wes couldn't wait to see the sharks. Watch out Wes, there's one headed right for you!
Nate and I check out my favorite part of the aquarium, the seahorses.

If you look closely, Adam noticed that this fish has a dark spot on the top of his head in his markings that looks like the word "DUMP". Wow, very observant Adam.
Wes became very interested in sharks after this trip to the aquarium. We even picked up a shark book at the gift shop. We learned that sharks have 8 sets of teeth in their jaws and they regenerate. If a shark looses a tooth, a new one will move up and take it's place within 24 hours. I thought this would be very useful for toddlers. Then I wouldn't have to freak out and wiggle all their teeth to make sure they're intact every time they take a header, as they do quite frequently.
We then headed over to Point Loma Seafoods for a yummy lunch. Nate and Chris have the same "I'm tired" look on their faces in this picture.
After lunch, we wandered around the harbor a little, checking out the boats. We had heard on the news that San Diego was having an uncommon infestation of jelly fish. Sure enough, we saw 3 jelly fish hanging out in the harbor!
Lou Lou was attempting to teach Jack colors by feeding him and Wes M&Ms. The boys just wanted her to hand over the M&Ms faster. It looked like she was feeding hungry birds.
Later that evening, we headed over to La Jolla for a sunset photo shoot.

Once we finished taking some pictures, we crossed the street to eat at one of our favorite restaurants, Brockton Villa. Papa and Lou Lou even joined us for dinner.
Brockton Villa is a fairly nice restaurant in La Jolla that overlooks the cove. They have always been very kid friendly though and we love it there.
Both boys were very well behaved.

Nate enjoys a little pudding before bed, though I'm not sure he got any in his mouth.
Wes enjoys some fireworks before bed. We had to privilege of seeing the fireworks from Sea World every night from the comfort of our own porch on the bay.
Wes has wanted to try fishing for some time. I found him a Diego fishing pole on clearance at Target a while ago and we thought San Diego would be the perfect place to give it a try. So we headed over to the pier with Grandma and Linde in tow, first thing in the morning.
Unfortunately, Daddy and I know next to nothing about fishing. I found out though, that there is no license required to fish on the pier. There was also a nice man who runs a bait and tackle shop out of a shack on the pier. He set us up with a hook and some shrimp for bait and gave us the basics of fishing off the pier.
We didn't catch anything except a bunch of seaweed, but we had fun trying.
Our last night in San Diego we decided to head over to Belmont Park for a little boardwalk carnival fun. The boys LOVED this little boat ride, especially Nate, he cried and cried when the ride was over and we had to take him out.
Wes played a game where you had to select a duck and what was written on the underside of the duck determined your prize.
He ended up with this basketball hoop set and was thoroughly satisfied. We hung it up in his room the minute we got home from San Diego.
There was time for one carousel ride with Mommy before we had to go pack up our stuff to head back to Arizona the next day.
Goodbye San Diego for another year. We had lots of fun, can't wait to come back!
