Showering Jaime

The wedding day is nearing, so it was time for a shower for our special new family member.

There were tons of family and friends there to celebrate with Jaime and of course, lots of presents.

All of the bridesmaids were able to make it, even Rachel who lives in California made the trip out. By the time we took this picture, some had gone home, but there will be plenty of pictures at the wedding. We are so excited!

Chore Chart

We've been having some issues getting Wes through his morning and night routines. For some reason, he wants to fight us on going to the bathroom, washing his hands, brushing his teeth and the other necessities of getting ready. I've tried to explain to him that these are just things that need to be done and there is nothing to argue about. So came the "chore chart". I concocted a chart with velcro check marks to be moved from morning to night as he completes each task. It seems to be working pretty well. We just have to tell Wes to "do your check marks" and he gets right down to business.

Our Chick-Fil-A Adventure

It is Lizzy's first week home with 2 kids. She has had family helping her all week and we were waiting for our chance to pitch it (actually, we really wanted to hold Lucy). By the time we got there on Friday, it was evident that Liz needed very little help and already had this 2 kid thing down. So, we decided to load all the kids up and head to Chick-Fil-A for lunch. This was Liz's first time getting both kids in and out of the car by herself. I was able to offer very little help, as I was wrestling my own munchkins out of the car. I think we were a sight to see with these 4 stair step kids, but we did it. We got all 4 kids safely from the car to the restaurant and back. Wes tried to be a big helper and helped hold Jack's hand in the parking lot. He also tried to go after Jack and bring him to us when Jack ran off in the restaurant, that didn't work so well, so Liz took over. It's the thought that counts though, he's such a good big brother and cousin.

Nate Meets MOUD for the First Time

We love MOUD (Mean Old Uncle Dennis), but don't get to see him nearly often enough because of all of our busy schedules. He made a special trip from Tucson to hang with us for a day and we had lots of fun. Grandma and Linde came over for dinner and we had some yummy tacos. We played a little Beatles Rockband, of course. Then Chris went to bed (he had to work in the morning) and Dennis and I stayed up until all hours talking, just like old times.

The next day Grandma came over and we took Dennis to Chino Bandido for lunch. On the way there, Dennis was filling my mom in on all of his girl troubles over the last couple years. Wes was sitting in his car seat very quietly, then all of a sudden piped up. "Yeah, the girls are always trying to get me, so I hide in the bathroom until their Mommy's come to get them". We all laughed and laughed, especially Dennis who isn't as accustomed to crazy things that come out of Wes's mouth all the time.

Three Boy Day

Uncle Chris just started a new job and even though baby Lucy was born yesterday, work must go on. So, we got to play with Jack for a few hours today while Chris got a little work done and Liz and Lucy are still in the hospital. We had lots of fun, the boys LOVE to play with all of the outside toys. Jack has a "thing" for helmets right now and wore this helmet around all day. Jen and Patrick also came to play for a bit and brought us some lunch. When Jen walked in the door she saw Jack playing trains with a helmet on, looked at me a little strangely and said, "Is he wearing that for fun or for safety?". Haha. I probably should have made all three boys wear helmets all day.

Sweet Baby Lucy

Welcome Lucille Mary Petroff! Born January 7th, 2010 at 5:51am, weighing 7lb 7oz and 18 inches long.

We had been waiting for little Miss Lucy for a week and were so excited to wake up to a text from Liz that she had arrived early in the morning. Lucy came quickly and Mommy Lizzy did a great job. Daddy Chris almost missed the big event as he was trying to get big brother Jack's car seat into Papa's car, but he made it just in time.

Wes, Nate, my mom and I all headed over to the hospital to get our first look and holds in. Luckily, everyone was healthy and able to meet the sweet baby girl right away.

Wes was very excited to meet his new baby cousin and wanted nothing more than to hold her. He kept asking over and over again, even after we had let him hold her a couple times.

Chris went over to meet his new niece after he got off of work that day. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of him holding her for the first time but I know he fell in love just like we did.

Everyone is happy and healthy and will be heading home from the hospital soon.

Congratulations to Liz, Chris and big brother Jack! We love you baby Lucy and are so glad you have joined our family.

Zoo Lights

We hadn't got a chance to visit Zoo Lights yet, so we headed over with the Petroff family and Lou Lou and Papa. We needed to get Liz walking, now that the New Year (and Lucy's due date) had come and gone, we were getting anxious to meet this little girl. We thoroughly wore out the boys with some Zoo Lights fun and hoped our efforts would put Lizzy into labor soon.

Happy New Year 2010

We had a quiet New Year's Eve with Grandma and Linde. It seemed that everyone else just wanted a quiet night at their own houses.

We ate our yummy fondue dinner and played a bunch of games, including, Beatles Rockband of course. It was a fun night and we finished it off by making a bunch of noise at midnight with all of the goodies that Grandma brought.

Nate, the sleepy boy that he is, ushered in the New Year in his crib with his softy animals.
